Letterpress bookworks is the final class I registered during my graduate study. For the very last self-initiated project, I picked the same content as Ode to Typography (Artist's Book)'s again, interweaving letterpress and my beloved typography together to create this Ode to Typography (Letterpress) bookwork as the grand finale of my master degree pursuing experience in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
The bookwork is composed by several folios stacked on top of each other in a bookcase. Each folio is a reminiscence of an typographic era and the whole stack visualizes the developing timeline: i. uncial with puzzled initial; ii. uncial script; iii. Gutenberg Bible; iv. old style Roman; v. transitional Roman; vi. modern Roman; vii. slab serif/Egyptian; viii. san serif; ix. arts & crafts movement; x. bibliography; xi. colophon
