Fall 2017; Chicago, IL, USA
Chinese restaurants in the US serve fortune cookies after bill check. Once I was having dim sum at Ming Hin Cuisine downtown Chicago, I got one with the message Someone Admires Your Beauty. I feel like it is not only delightful but also quite philosophical.
It came back to me when I was copywriting for the Six Words Memoir project. I revised it slightly with a little bit more sassy flavor:
Someone admires your beauty, like TOTALLY!

*tattarrattat /ˌta-tə-ˈrä-tə/onom.
Tattarrattat and Wow are the longest and shortest palindromes in English. Their interactiveness on paper creates a subtle narrative achitecture with duality:
If scenic: –[Knock on the door; door opens] –Wow! (How come?)
If logica: –See the longest palindrome. –[Amazed] Wow!

Chicago—the Windy City—is famous for its fierce and unforgiving winters. At times, it even ranks the third-coldest place on Earth, surpassed only by Antarctica and Siberia. When the made-up word #Chiberia is juxtaposed with the original Siberia, a witty visual dialogue instantly immerges the viewers into that icy and windswept reality.
Symmetry/Asymmetry is the first project assigned to every student studying at the Type Shop in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Symmetry needs to be set in serif central symmetrically; asymmetry needs to be set in san serif asymmetrcally with an extra punctuation.
